About
the Chamber
Welcome!
The Wachusett Chamber of Commerce serves over
500 member businesses located predominantly in the communities surrounding
the Wachusett Reservoir. We hope you will take advantage of the
many services and resources available at the Chamber, and contact
us if you have additional questions, comments or suggestions.
Mission Statement
The Wachusett Chamber of Commerce is a business
advocacy, community and economic development organization committed
to the support of its members’ growth and success and the
development of a positive economic climate.
The Chamber services the area communities of Berlin,
Bolton, Boylston, Clinton, Harvard, Lancaster, Sterling, West Boylston
and many other nearby towns and is funded by membership investments.
The Wachusett Chamber of Commerce is Accredited with
three stars by the United States Chamber of Commerce, recognized
as offering quality programs, practicing sound organization procedures,
and reliably contributing to positive change in the community.
History
Founded in 1884 as the Board of Trade, the Wachusett
Chamber has a long history of promoting local commerce. In 1915
the Board of Trade changed its name to the Clinton Area Chamber
of Commerce. The 1915 bylaws defined an objective of “advancing
the commercial, industrial and civic interests of the town of Clinton
and vicinity…” Throughout the years the Chamber has
continued to serve this objective and once again changed its name
to the Wachusett Chamber of Commerce as its service area grew. Your
participation is what makes it possible to achieve the goals of
improving the business environment, supporting member businesses,
attracting new members and working on behalf of the communities
served by the Chamber.
Your business advocate
The Chamber, in conjunction with the Governmental
Affairs Committee, carefully monitors local, state and federal legislation
and supports or speaks out against legislation based on the best
interests of the Chamber membership. The Chamber is involved in
hosting events such as the Candidates’ Forum during election
years and other programs bringing issues to the forefront and bringing
legislators and members of the business community together, opening
the lines of communication.
